Founder's Note
I am Guru Smt.Karthika Ramesh, a Bharatanatyam dancer, Indian dance performer, Choreographer, Artistic Director, Sri Sri Natya Yoga teacher at World Forum for Art of Culture and Kalaguru at “Karthika Natyalayam”. I founded my school, Karthika Natyalayam, in the year 2017, based in BTM Layout,Bangalore. And teach Kalakshetra style(bani) and Pandanallur style(bani) where emphasis is more on hand movements than Abhinaya.
My early lessons, I began training at the age of 6 under the guidance of Kalaimamani Guru Sri Sakthi Renganathan Pillai, and learned Bharatnatyam for 14yrs, along with performing in many places. I am also trained in Nattuvangam by eminent and reputed guru GnanaSakthivel and guru Chinammanur Dr.A.Chitra. I completed my BFA in Bharatanatyam at Trichy Kalai Kaviri college and am also a Sri Sri Natya Yoga teacher at World Forum for Art of Culture(WFAC) from 2015. I have conducted many Sri Sri Natya Yoga sessions and workshops for students from India and abroad. Also participated as a judge in many dance events. ​Performed for A.R.Rahman’s album shooting for “World Chess Olympiad-2022" at Mahabalipuram, Chennai.

Performed on stage in Nov 2017 for our "1st annual day" celebrations at Sri Balaji Venkateswara temple auditorium,Bangalore.

Performed on the topic of "Niranjan - Dance and Drama" at IWWA community hall,Bangalore in 2018.

Attended exam under Bridge Academy which is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Government.

In 2019, participated in a workshop that I conducted on "Body Fitness on Bharatanatyam" at Renga Natyalayam,Rajapalayam.

Proudly participated in the event "Gurusamarpanam" at Ekambareswarar Temple,Kumbakonam,Tamilnadu, where 1000 students from different parts of India participated and is considered a world record. Students received certificates for participation as well.

In 2020, my students participated at "Trichy Bharatanatyam Festival" at Thiruvanaikovil Arulmigu Jambukeswarar Akilandeswari Temple,Trichy,Tamilnadu.My students got Vriksha book of world record certificate and a momento.

Under the guidance of my Guru Sri Sakthi Renganathan Pillai, I taught arangetram for 2 batches students (my guru's students) and salangai pooja for 3 batches of students (my guru's students).

In June 2022, "A Thousand Hands Dance Festival" at Chennai was conducted, where 500 people of various age group across the world participated and performed for 9 mins 40sec dedicated to Ardhanarishvara in the Nobal World Record. My students received certificates and medals.

In June 2022, we also had the awesome opportunity to participate in A.R.Rahman’s album shooting for “World Chess Olympiad-2022" at Mahabalipuram, Chennai. It was a great experience to be part of this event with Vignesh Shivan’s direction, A. R. Rahman music and Brindha master’s choreography. Director Shankar Sir's daughter,Adithi danced with me and my students for this 44th Chess Olympiad song.

In July 2022, few of my students passed Grade1 and Grade 2 exams which were conducted by Bridge Academy.
